Apply to be a nominated charity for the next Daffodil Weekend

Each year, we nominate one or more charities to receive a percentage of the profit raised from Daffodil Weekend. If you would like to nominate a charity, please complete and submit the form below before 1 December 2024.

The primary assessment of your application will be based on the text you submit within this form. Where a written response is required, please type your full and complete answers directly in the form below. For clarity, please don’t include external links to websites or pdfs unless specifically requested.

All applicants are also required to complete the Compliance and Financial Due Dilligence form. This is to reassure the Trustees that the charity is acting with best practice, have processes in line with expectations as laid-down by the Charity Commission and meet the standards of conduct of the Thriplow Daffodil Weekend Trust.

What are the charity's background and objectives? How would you describe the purpose of the charity?

Who does the charity specifically provide support for? Please be as specific as possible.

Will any funds received from Thriplow Daffodil Weekend be used locally to Thriplow and the surrounding area? If so, how?

What has the charity achieved to-date locally to Thriplow and the surrounding area?

Does the charity have a fund raising individual or team and if so, are they a paid for resource?

How can your charity assist with marketing to promote Thriplow Daffodil Weekend?

Has the charity received monies from Thriplow Daffodil Weekend previously? If so, can you detail when this was and what it was spent on.

Attendance of the charity at the Thriplow Daffodil Weekend (free pitches will be available for gazebos/stalls etc) is required unless there are extenuating circumstances, please can you confirm what kind of presence you intend to have.

SECTION 3: Charity Compliance and Financial Due Diligence

2) Best value for money: Please detail the process that you will follow before making the expenditure that the Daffodil Weekend Trust’s grant will be used for: competitive estimates or best value practices for example.

3) Financial justification of your application: Please write a short piece explaining why a grant from Thriplow Daffodil Weekend will make a real difference to your financial position and ability to offer the services that you do – please reference financial reserves held if appropriate.

SECTION 4: A fairer, mutually supporting community – standards of operation

A) A demonstrated commitment to sustainability: Please provide a simple written response saying what your organisation is doing to reduce carbon emissions, reduce energy consumption and promote sustainability.

B) A civility and respect policy: Please provide a simple written response saying what the policy of your organisation is towards ensuring that anyone associated with your organisation conducts any interaction with members of the public with civility and respect.

C) A demonstrated commitment (in the previous year) to raising funds yourself: Please provide evidence that you have sought to raise funds yourself so that you are not totally reliant on grants from external sources.
