Further information

Thriplow is a small, beautiful village in South Cambridgeshire, approximately 9 miles south of Cambridge and 1.5 miles from Duxford Imperial War Museum with easy access to the M11. When visiting the event, please use the postcode SG8 7HZ. Why not consider combining a visit to Duxford Imperial War Museum or Cambridge with Daffodil Weekend? We recommend allowing a minimum time of approximately 4 hours for your visit.

Daffodil Weekend is a popular outdoor, rural event first started in 1969 to raise money for repairs to the church roof; since then, more than £700,000 has been raised for charity. With a mix of over 120 craft stalls and food vendors, you can also expect to see the many different varieties of daffodils growing amongst the stalls, along the roadside and in the gardens. Other attractions include, children’s entertainment, dog show, classic cars, morris dancers, flower festival in the church, a working Smithy on the Green, steam engine and live music, as well as, heavy horse dray rides, tractor trailer rides and rides on the miniature train.

You’ll need your best walking shoes on, as the event is spread throughout the village, with a route covering more than half a mile in total. Along the way, you can stop and browse the stalls and watch the entertainment, all accessed from the traffic free roads. Please note, some areas are located on uneven ground and accessibility will be limited for wheelchair users in these locations. We provide a free minibus service, which runs throughout the day to and from the coach park.

When visiting the event, please remember to dress according to the weather conditions and wear appropriate footwear.

We do not have mobility scooters or wheelchairs available to hire.

Toilet facilities for all users are located at the coach park and outside the village hall, as well as other locations as marked on the event map (map available to view in early March).

Seating is very limited, but we have three tearooms providing indoor seating, where you can rest and enjoy home-made cake and a hot cuppa served by our volunteers. We are unable to provide Sunday lunches or sit down meals, but food ‘on the go’ from outdoor vendors will be available throughout the day.

Our very popular and lively ‘Taste of Thriplow’ area offers a good selection of food and drink to take-away.
